Plywood Paintings

About a year and a half ago I started painting with acrylic paints on raw plywood. The paint almost acted like stain on the wood. I was interested in following the grain pattern of the wood and activating it with different colors. Since I work full time in the paint department for a major home improvement retailer it seemed like a logical (and downright fun) thing to do! Here is the most recent example of my plywood paintings. I’m really excited about this new series of works and will be posting more pictures of them soon. Take this picture with a little grain of salt because the resolution is not very good. I snapped it with my smartphone and the quality is not as good as I would prefer. I’ll be adding some better photos contained on their own page such as my acrylic paintings page. The plywood paintings will have their own dedicated page.
